Unlock Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Unlock Samsung Galaxy Alpha – Announced on august 2014, this is Samsung’s first metal phone and although it wants to be in a “premium” category (more on that later), it sits between the Galaxy S5 and the S5 mini.

Let’s start with its main differentiator: it’s body.
Built in metal all around the edges, this phone kind of reminds of the iPhone 5, with square, chamfered edges that allow it to stand on it’s side on a flat surface. The sleep/wake button and the volume buttons on it’s side are also metal, also chamfered, and have a very satisfying click when operating. It is also very lightweight, lighter than the iPhone 6, lighter than the Galaxy S5 mini, only slightly heavier than the iPhone 5S. It’s only 115 grams (about 4 ounces). So, is very lightweight and easy to carry, fits nicely in almost any hand with it’s now regarded “normal” 4.7 inch sized screen.
So this is Samsung’s response to the iPhone. Except for the back, which is a removable battery cover made of flexible soft touch plastic that kind of “gives” when you press it. The usual Samsung back cover.. but this time it gives you access only to the battery and nano-sim card, because this phone lacks a Micro SD expansion! That a no-no Samsung! I mean, if you want to copy the iPhone, copy the good stuff!. Anyway, turning the phone around we are faced with the screen. 4.7 inch size, super amoled vibrant, contrasty screen… yada yada… but it is only a 720p pentile display. Again: not so premium! don’t get me wrong. The screen quality is on par with any other premium phone, but if you like to look up close or if you are very sensitive to pixels… you’ll see them.

How to unlock Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Staying right there on the front of this phone we can find the home button which is also a fingerprint sensor, the kind of ones you have to slide your finger across it. Flipping it over again, back to the plastic back cover, we can see the 12mp camera, the LED flash and the heart rate sensor. On the top of the phone you’ll see the headphones jack connector and a tiny hole for the noise-canceling microphone. On the bottom, the USB 2 charging and syncing port with the speaker next to it, just like the iPhone has.

Of course this is a 4G LTE phone, it comes with NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (NOT expandable), the nano sim card slot, and it’s capable of recording video at 4k resolutions in 30 frames per second. Of course, be warned, it will use up all your storage space.
The main processor is kind of special, because it’s an octa-core Exynos 5430 made up of a quad-core 1.8GHz Cortex A15 and a 1.3GHz Cortex A7. One optimized for speed, the other optimized for battery life. It’s a very capable and powerful setup that will run all modern games smoothly and without problems. Of course there are more powerful phones out there, like the Droid Turbo for example, but.. like I said, the Galaxy Alpha is very capable, beating the Galaxy S5 in the benchmarks: Running Geekbench 3, you’ll get a 3124 multi-core score, while you will see only 2830 score on the Galaxy S5. So, it’s a little beast.

On the software front, it comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung’s usual TouchWiz UI on top of it, this time a little less bloated, thank you Samsung 🙂

In conclusion, if you like the iPhone 5S body but it is kind of small for you, and you also like android better, you will like this one, as is a good quality feeling phone… that falls short in some aspects: like the flimsy back cover and the relatively low-res screen. But it has good battery life, good camera, a very fast processor, 4G, NFC and all the usual bells and whistles…
