It looks like those of us expecting the new HTC One flagship phone to be announced at this years CES are going to have to wait a bit longer. Instead of the latest generation flagship HTC has brought along a new budget device, the Desire 320 which “replaces” the year old Desire 310.
The latest HTC Desire 320 offers some slightly improved specs over the Desire 310. While still an entry level android device it is a bit chunky, for lack of better word. The device comes sporting a 4.5 inch display with a resolution topping out at 854 x 480 px. It runs the same processor as it’s predecessor, the 1.3GHz quard-core MediaTek processor. A lot of new phones, even entry level phones, have focused a lot on the selfie or front-facing camera – HTC has chosen not to with this device. While it does come with a 5MP rear-facing camera the “selfie camera” or front-facing camer is only a whopping 0.3MP camera. The Desire 320 will come running Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) and will have 1GB RAM and 4-8GB storage which is expandable to 32GB via microSD expansion slot. Neatest thing we saw on the HTC Desire 320 so far is the built-in FM radio. Even with all the streaming options out there – good, old fashioned radio is still sometimes nice.
Complete details and specs are not known at this time but the HTC Desire 320 is definitely coming to replace the Desire 310. First stops are rumored to be Germany and the UK and as with any entry level device – you can count on it being cheap!
